The Novato Unified School District board approved two construction contract awards at its Jan. 13 meeting.
District staff recommended EF Brett and Company, Inc. as the best-value contractor for the Rancho Elementary roof repair after receiving seven proposals and interviewing three firms; staff included a $350,000 pre-construction services allowance in the contract to secure materials early. The recommendation passed in a roll-call vote reported by the chair.
Staff then recommended Wright Contracting as the best-value contractor for the HVAC and fire-alarm project at Nevada High School after a QP process that produced six proposals and interviews with three firms. That contract likewise includes a $350,000 pre-construction allowance, and the board approved the award on a roll-call vote. Trustees thanked staff and moved the projects into pre-construction planning.
