Muttontown trustees unanimously adopt Local Law 1 of 2026 to exceed tax levy limit

The Board of Trustees held a public hearing and voted unanimously to adopt Local Law 1 of 2026, which permits the Incorporated Village of Muttontown to adopt a fiscal year 2026–27 budget with a real property tax levy in excess of the tax levy limit defined by General Municipal Law § 3-c.
Clerk-Treasurer Joe Russo gave an overview of the proposed local law during the hearing that opened at 7:19 p.m. and closed at 7:20 p.m. Resolution 26-21 was moved by Trustee Mohinder Singh, seconded by Trustee Vincent Scialli, and the poll of the board recorded six 'aye' votes (Trustees Fagen, Scialli, Prasad, Schloss, Singh, and Mayor Liguori). The minutes do not record any public speakers during the hearing.
