City Clerk Gregory Newman reported to the Grand Ledge City Council that the primary election is scheduled for August 4, 2026, and noted the July 21 filing deadline for candidates for the November 3 general election. Newman identified which offices had filings for mayor and city council in the public minutes.
Council Member Brett Gillespie additionally reminded voters that the Grand Ledge Area Emergency Services Authority millage renewal will appear on the August 4 ballot. The minutes encourage participation but do not provide ballot language or millage rates; those details were not recorded in the public minutes.
The council took no separate action on the millage at this meeting; election logistics and precinct inspector appointments were handled previously by the Election Commission.
