Recreation dept. highlights fall events, fencing expo and volunteer needs for youth track meet

Mark, Recreation and Community Services staff, told commissioners the city's rec centers remain busy and previewed upcoming events including Dance the Night Away on Sept. 19, a fencing exhibit Sept. 26–28 outside the mall, and the 30th‑anniversary Relay for Life. He said the fencing exhibit will run 1–5 p.m. each day and noted partnerships with USA Fencing and a local Laguna Fencing Center located in Mission Viejo.
Mark also requested commissioner volunteers for a youth track meet on Sunday, Oct. 5 (ages 8–18) and described roles needed—runners, timers, check‑in staff and judges—and a $25 registration fee for participants. He encouraged commissioners and the public to attend and support the slate of fall activities.
