Mayor Wallace moved that the council convene a closed session pursuant to the Virginia Code to discuss four topics: a personnel matter involving a department head; acquisition or disposition of publicly held property in downtown Hampton where public discussion would harm bargaining strategy; prospective business recruitment or expansion; and consultation with legal counsel about a vested-rights legal matter.
A motion to go into closed session was made and seconded and the clerk conducted a roll-call vote. The council recorded unanimous "Aye" votes for Vice Mayor Curtis, Councilman Hobbs, Councilman Moffatt, Councilwoman Schmitt, Councilwoman Snee, Councilman Tuck and Mayor Wallace. The mayor noted the time at about 1:45 and the council recessed to the Lawson Conference Room for the closed session.
