The clerk read a motion to convene a closed session pursuant to Virginia Code sections referenced in the meeting for three purposes: appointments to the Hampton Employees' Retirement System (HERS) board; discussion of a prospective business where the announcement has not been made; and consideration of investment of public funds where competition or bargaining is involved.
Council moved and seconded the motion; roll call votes were recorded as 'Aye' for all members present. The mayor recessed to a designated conference room to conduct the closed session.
