Council asks staff to check status of shelters near senior complexes; HRT 'true up' funds used for some installations

The City Manager said staff had used HRT 'true up' money — funds resulting from a reconciliation of payments — to pay for some shelters and believed at least one of the senior locations was included, but staff would need to verify whether all four were covered and would report back. The manager noted that public works and HRT prioritize shelters by ridership and that some shelters have been funded through joint federal and state grants. Councilman Moffatt added that city and HRT staff are coordinating site work and that a shelter/turnaround to ease access to Langley Air Force Base was underway as an example of successful coordination.
