Trustees approve staff hires and student handbooks for 2025–26
Summary
The board approved a list of new hires (paraprofessionals, teachers, a long-term substitute custodian and a volleyball coach) and adopted student handbooks for each site for the 2025–26 school year; motions were unanimous (7-0).
The board approved employment contracts and hires listed in Item 10, including Kory Gunderman (LME paraprofessional), Ashley Trapozzano (LME paraprofessional), Tara Johnson (LME teacher), Megan Lawson (LME teacher), Hector Loera (long-term substitute custodian), and Laurencia Botts (Vina volleyball coach). The motion to approve employment was moved by Melissa Peters and seconded by Sue Knox and was recorded as carried 7-0.
Trustees also approved student handbooks for Los Molinos High School, Los Molinos Elementary and Vina Elementary for the 2025–26 school year. The minutes do not reproduce handbook language; approval allows schools to distribute handbooks and enforce site rules and procedures for the coming year.
