Andrea (county staff) told commissioners the program is a partnership of law enforcement, public health, DHS and local outreach providers designed to scope needs and begin coordinated outreach; the first funding agreement — described in the meeting as approximately $404,000 — was presented for Chaffee Hospitality to lead homeless outreach coordination. The board also approved a related agreement with Alpine Achievers Inc. to provide complementary outreach services.
Commissioners emphasized the agreements are an initial, "one bite at a time" approach to a complex regional homelessness problem and said the county's Housing Authority and Housing Trust will continue work across the housing continuum. Both motions passed by unanimous voice vote.
