Midvale council confirms Branden Anderson as city engineer

The Midvale City Council voted unanimously to confirm Mayor Dustin Gettel's appointment of Branden Anderson as Midvale City Engineer (Resolution No. 2025-R-33). Staff said Keith Ludwig retired May 30, 2025 after long service; Community Development staff recommended Anderson following an extensive search.
Adam Olsen summarized Anderson's background, noting years of service in multiple UDOT roles, including statewide program/project management and field engineering. "He's excited to be here and work with staff," Anderson said after the appointment was announced. Council Member Bryant Brown moved to approve the resolution; Council Member Heidi Robinson seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote: Billings, Glover, Robinson, Brown and Mikolash all voted Aye.
Council members praised Anderson's experience and said they expect his UDOT background to help implement the City's Transportation Master Plan and active-transportation components.
