Midvale UPD says officers handled 2,381 calls in April; two retirements expected

Chief April Morse presented the Unified Police Department’s April activity report to the council, saying the department responded to 2,381 calls that month and opened 841 cases. "The department responded to 2,381 calls resulting in 841 cases and an average of 85 calls per officer," she reported, and noted the department issued 440 traffic citations.
Chief Morse also noted the Cops and Kids arts contest concluded with two winners from Hillcrest High School and that two officers are scheduled to retire in June and July. Council members acknowledged the UPD’s work and the mayor praised the department for keeping the UPD budget increase around 3.8 percent.
