Select Board members discussed the town’s planned website migration to CivicPlus and moving meeting recordings to YouTube to leverage automated transcription and improve ADA accessibility. The Chair reported he had been involved in vendor meetings and urged staff to insist CivicPlus complete content migration, including calendars and documents.
Members emphasized staff and departmental involvement in migration, training for personnel who will maintain the site, and verification of what CivicPlus will migrate. The board flagged the need for 301 redirects and staff negotiation with the vendor to ensure the calendar and existing documents transfer. The chair and staff indicated they will work with CivicPlus and present a deployment review to the board when the site is ready.
