Dan, director of development for Vocational Visions, told the council the nonprofit has been operating for more than 50 years and currently serves over 400 participants, with two local facilities totaling roughly 40,000 square feet. He described programs including supported employment, adult development, day training, medical day services and a clubhouse model, and said the agency employs roughly 150–185 staff for its Mission Viejo services.
Dan detailed the organization’s partnership with the City of Mission Viejo: program participants and job coaches staff public-works roles such as opening and cleaning park restrooms on weekdays and weekends, and Vocational Visions provides ADA-compliant transportation (about 50 vans) and opportunities to volunteer in the community. “We have over 400 participants… and they come from North Orange County all the way down to San Clemente,” he said. The council thanked Vocational Visions for long-term collaboration and noted intersections with other agenda items (food pantry services).
