Andrea Burke, supervisor for the historic preservation team in the City of Minneapolis Department of Community Planning and Economic Development, announced that the Aug. 18 Heritage Preservation Commission meeting is canceled and reminded commissioners that applications for HPC appointments are being accepted through Aug. 31. Burke also thanked commissioners for participating in the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions forum and noted the HPC received an APC award for best practices in identification and registration tied to the Minneapolis African American historic and cultural context study.
Erin Kaye displayed the award and said staff hopes to find a place to display it. Burke asked any commissioners who received CLG scholarships to submit documents by Friday or coordinate deadlines with staff. The meeting closed after a brief round of congratulations and administrative reminders.
