Comprehensive-plan committee seeks public input; forum set for Aug. 16

Committee member (S1) updated the board on the comprehensive-plan committee's work: data gathering, an online SurveyMonkey questionnaire (86 responses so far, with a goal of more than 100), and a community forum scheduled for Aug. 16 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the LAD Center. The committee has received the first draft of the transportation chapter and plans additional topic-specific forums (water quality, lakes) as the process continues.
S1 urged board members and residents to complete the survey and explained the committee's plan for breaking attendees into discussion groups to identify priorities. The committee is working with the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments (KVCOG) on drafting assistance and expects regular monthly meetings and periodic public updates.
