Montgomery County honors AUM 'Fear the Green' coach-pitch team for World Series title

The Montgomery County Commission recognized AUM's "Fear the Green" 8-and-under coach-pitch all-stars with a proclamation after the team captured a World Series championship. Commissioners invited the players and coaches to the front of the chamber for remarks and a photo.
"We finished and came out as world series champion," said Jeremy Sherpa, the team's head manager, thanking the commission for the acknowledgement and describing the team's progress over three years. Sherpa named assistant Courtney Martin and coaches Lance Tucker and Nicholas Stewart and told commissioners the title was a major milestone for the young athletes.
Commissioners and staff presented a small gift to the players and encouraged them to return to the chambers in the future. The recognition highlighted the county's support for youth sports and community organizations that bring young residents into positive activities.
