Commission seeks fence repair quotes for Village Cemetery; discusses flags and meeting schedule
Summary
The commission asked contractor Mike MacAskill to provide quotes for Village Cemetery fence work (whole fence or divided top/bottom sections), to inspect posts in the bottom field and trim brush; members also discussed reusing existing flags and agreed to move forward with obtaining quotes.

Susan Lyons told the commission she had spoken with contractor Mike MacAskill at Town Meeting, and he said he would be willing to perform fence work at the Village Cemetery but likely could not begin until July. "He said that he would be happy to do it but wouldn’t be able to get to it until July," Lyons said during the March 26 meeting.
Members agreed it would be prudent to request separate quotes for the entire fence and for top- and bottom-section work, and to ask MacAskill to inspect post conditions in the bottom field and trim brush along the top fence. The commission noted spare materials remain at the Town Garage and that screws are stored in the Town Office. They discussed replacing the Henry Road fence possibly next year.
The group also reviewed flag logistics: the large Village flag should be serviceable for another year and smaller flag sticks from last year may be reused. Lyons said she might be unavailable for the April meeting and proposed changing it to April 30; she also reported John Perkins had indicated interest in rejoining the commission, which would require a Selectboard appointment letter.
