Commission reports seven projected burials; indicates space likely available for cremation burials

At the March 26 meeting Susan Lyons reported the commission's projected cemetery burials: "there are 7 so far," and she said Hooker Funeral Home had submitted information on two additional burials. Several families have asked whether cremated remains may be interred in existing family lots.
Lyons and Joe Mangan reviewed the inquiries and told the commission that available space appears sufficient for the requests they examined. Lyons noted that where burials are relatives, "No extra charge on the internment fees as they are relatives." Commissioners asked whether burials would be private family interments or conducted by funeral homes and noted staff would continue to track incoming requests and report back with any constraints discovered.
