Williamstown Cemetery Commission appoints officers after Town Meeting

At its March 26 meeting the Williamstown Cemetery Commission re-organized: Matt Couillard was approved to remain chair, Matt Walker was appointed vice-chair and Susan Lyons was appointed secretary. Chair Matt Couillard called the Williamstown Cemetery Commission to order at 7:10 P.M. on March 26, 2026, at the Town Office and the body moved immediately to reorganize following Town Meeting. "I’ll make a Motion to appoint Matt Couillard as Chair," said Susan Lyons; the motion was seconded by Daphne Herwig and approved by the board.
The panel continued its reorganization: Susan Lyons moved to appoint Matt Walker as vice-chair, seconded by Daphne Herwig, and the board approved; Matt Walker then moved to appoint Susan Lyons as secretary, seconded by Daphne Herwig, and that motion also carried. The commission voted unanimously on the appointments during the New Business portion of the agenda.
The commission also approved corrected minutes from November 20, 2025 (motion by Daphne Herwig, second by Matt Walker). Members discussed a small transcription gap on page two of the minutes and noted it concerned budget interest from Perpetual Care. Chair Matt Couillard and other members reviewed the Budget Status Report dated March 23, 2026 earlier in the meeting. The group adjourned at 7:30 P.M. and set a tentative next meeting date of April 30, 2026.
