"The public interest and necessity demand that the town perform capital upgrades and improve at least 13.84 miles of nine unpaved town highways," Ryan presented to the board as part of the adopted resolution.
The board accepted an official warning that sets the Special Town Meeting for Wednesday, May 6, 2026 (polls 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.) at the Williamstown Public Safety Building and approved the Australian‑ballot question and ballot form to be used. David Rugh, attorney with the Vermont Bond Bank, told the board that state law requires the warning be published on the same weekday for three consecutive weeks and posted in five town locations; the Selectboard moved to adopt the corrected warning and schedule the required public informational hearing on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The motions to adopt the Necessity Resolution, the official warning, and the ballot language were made from the floor and approved by the board during the special meeting.
