Williamstown creates fireworks reserve fund after vendor price rise

Town Manager Ryan Lockwood reported the fireworks supplier changed names to Pyro Technica and the estimate for the same display the town has used in the past rose from $7,000 to $10,360, leaving a funding gap against the current $7,500 line item. The board approved a motion to create a Fireworks Display Reserve Fund to accumulate the annual fireworks line over time for the town’s 250th anniversary in 2031.
Scott McCarthy moved to create the reserve fund and Clayton Woodworth seconded; the motion passed. Lockwood said he would work with Jenn to ensure the reserve account could be created without delay.
