Larry Hebert was nominated and approved as chair of the Williamstown Selectboard at the board’s March 9 meeting. Clayton Woodworth moved to nominate Hebert and Scott McCarthy seconded; the motion passed. Hebert told the board this will be his final year of service after 39 years on local bodies, saying he wants to “focus on retirement.”
The board also nominated and approved Scott McCarthy as vice chair; Clayton Woodworth made the motion and Cote Griggs seconded. Members said they chose a vice chair they expect will be ready to assume greater leadership when Hebert steps down.
