Cal Blacker, Director of Transportation and Maintenance, presented the district Five-Year Plan and project updates. He told the board that Sycamore High School and Harpeth Middle School are receiving new 80-mil membrane roofing systems; while substantial portions have been completed, remaining edge metal and flashing work remain. The roofing schedule has been affected by weather, with "22 rain days recorded during May and June," creating delays and compressing the completion timeline.
Blacker said the district-wide HVAC Replacement Project is nearing completion: "To date, 534 PTAC units have been replaced across nine schools," with a short list of outstanding items scheduled by the end of July (kitchen makeup-air unit at Pegram Elementary, six classroom heat pumps at West Cheatham Elementary, and four PTAC units at Sycamore Middle). He also reported athletic-field lighting work at Harpeth High and Harpeth Middle is progressing (poles set, fixtures being mounted and aimed) but behind schedule due to the same weather impacts.
