MPD implementation unit previews new dashboards, training and community sessions

The unit is preparing a more detailed public dashboard that will break down uses of force by type and demographic information and will include a policy timeline that flags when new policies take effect and when public feedback windows close.
Robinson also described training efforts — from virtual‑reality exercises to crisis intervention training (CIT) — and said the department is working on audits tied to compliance checks (for example, body‑worn camera start‑up checks) that have contributed to a rise in coachable cases. He noted several policies are out for public comment, with specific deadlines posted on the MPD website for community feedback.
Commissioners thanked the implementation unit for posting draft policies and discussed ways to make outreach more accessible, including off‑downtown community locations and posting presentation materials online.
