Peter Andrew, the city’s financial director, opened the presentation by explaining the legal and notice requirements for the Truth in Taxation hearing and affirming the city met them. He cited the statute during his remarks and said the virtual participation link and budget documents had been available well beyond the minimum posting period.
Andrew also compared South Ogden’s proposed 10.30% increase to other jurisdictions’ proposals on the county schedule, citing examples including Hooper City (46%) and Roy City (54.9%) to give context for the city’s request. "This hearing was properly advertised and noticed in accordance with the statute," he said, and he pointed listeners to the City’s website for the impact schedule and county tax comparisons.
