City manager reports on police pension, National Night Out and impending Red Covered Bridge work

Whitnauer told the council that some parking lots (behind City Hall and the corner lot by Myrtle’s/Betsy’s) will be closed temporarily for asphalt resealing and striping, with potential reopening later in the week depending on drying. She also said the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has scheduled bidding and preliminary steps for reconstruction of the Red Covered Bridge, with work possibly beginning this fall and that the city is monitoring the project. "IDOT did do their their bidding for the Red Covered Bridge, for the upcoming construction season with folks to possibly be starting that reconstruction this fall," Whitnauer said.
