BOCES superintendent outlines programs and urges stable state aid; Avon declines to opt out of regionalization survey

Superintendent Ryan Pacatte told the board that Avon submitted the state regionalization survey after the state confirmed participation would be voluntary and that the district would not opt out. Pacatte said the intent behind regionalization proposals is to “open up more opportunities through regionalization,” but Avon’s board and staff are assessing how and whether to engage. The board recorded no formal opt‑out action at the meeting; members indicated they do not want to opt out of the process.
