Policy manual review underway; district to add Audit Committee meeting and corrective action plan

The Policy Manual Committee has met twice and reviewed board governance and Business Office policies; Erie 1 BOCES will receive a second draft. Superintendent Pacatte said a corrective action plan responding to a state audit will come to the board and an Audit Committee meeting will be added to Nov. 18.
Superintendent Ryan Pacatte and District Clerk Jen VanRy told trustees the Policy Manual Committee has met twice, reviewing Board governance and Business Office policies. The process will mark policies for approval, revision or deletion and the manual will return to Erie 1 BOCES for a second draft; questions are logged and discussed with legal services, BOCES or in-district experts. The next policy committee meeting is scheduled for Nov. 20.
Pacatte also reported that the district has submitted a response to a state audit and that a corrective action plan will be brought to the board. He said the process should include a meeting of the Audit Committee and that an Audit Committee meeting will be added to the Nov. 18 agenda.
