District begins policy manual update; review committee to be formed

Superintendent Ryan Pacatte and District Clerk Jen VanRy updated the board that Erie 1 BOCES has provided a first draft of a revised policy manual and recommended forming a review committee. The committee will include the superintendent, district clerk, business manager and a board member; Karen Vanderbilt will join the committee to start and other board members agreed to alternate participation. Department leaders will join meetings as their areas are discussed.
The minutes state this as an informational update; no board action or policy language was approved at the Sept. 16 meeting. The committee will review the draft and return recommendations to the board for subsequent consideration.
