Avon board approves labor agreements, pay adjustments and multiple personnel actions

The Avon Central School Board on Aug. 26 approved Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with employee groups and a slate of personnel actions, including new hires and resignations, as part of a consent agenda.
The board approved MOAs with the Avon Teachers Association (ATA), the district support staff unit (Unit #7306) and the Avon Administrators Association (AAA) that adjust compensation and benefits, and it designated several non‑bargaining positions to be eligible for the same adjustments, the resolution states. The consent agenda also recorded resignations effective in September and October: Amy Lutz (clerk typist) effective Sept. 3, 2024; Kathryn Muratore (ELA teacher) effective Sept. 13, 2024; and JoAnna Lamprecht (science teacher) effective Sept. 20, 2024.
The board approved appointments and staffing measures including setting the athletic trainer hourly rate at $45 per hour and appointing Catherine Conroy, James Porcella and Ian Kist as athletic trainers for the 2024‑25 school year. The board also approved a probationary 12‑month clerk/typist appointment for Jennifer Ingerick, effective Aug. 27, 2024, and a list of substitute and daily building staff hires.
"RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Avon Central School District hereby approves a Memorandum of Agreement with the Avon Teachers Association (ATA) regarding certain compensation and benefit adjustments dated August 23, 2024;" the resolution reads. The motion to adopt the consent agenda (mover: Steve Comeau; seconder: Karen Vanderbilt) carried 5–0.
The actions clear a set of staffing and compensation changes before the start of the 2024‑25 school year and allow the district to move forward with mentor assignments and other annual personnel tasks that were also approved during the consent agenda.
