Waynesville council authorizes emergency transfer from contingency to land and improvements fund

On Oct. 21 the Village Council adopted Ordinance No. 2024-037 to transfer money from the contingency fund (1000-930-930-0000) to the Land and Land Improvements Fund (1000-730-510-0000) and declared the transfer an emergency. The council first waived the two-reading rule (motion by Mr. Lyle Anthony, second Mr. Zack Gallagher) and then adopted the ordinance (motion by Mr. Zack Gallagher, second Mr. Chris Colvin); both motions passed on roll-call votes of seven yeas.
Jamie Morley, Finance Director and Clerk of Council, said the purpose of using the contingency fund was to pay for unexpected expenses and specifically noted the $50,000 transfer to fund a new roof. She also explained that Open Checkbook is updated at year end but that she can provide financial reports on request.
