Board approves six‑year EagleView aerial imagery contract for improved county GIS

The Board of County Commissioners approved a six‑year agreement with EagleView for biannual aerial flights and oblique imagery to support the county's geographic information systems (GIS). Technology Services staff said the new program will provide one‑inch and three‑inch imagery with significantly higher resolution than the county's prior data; the first EagleView flyover is expected in late February or March 2026.
Director of Technology Services Steven Perera and GIS supervisor Lionel Soule told commissioners the imagery will support emergency dispatch, permitting and planning reviews, and allow staff to measure elevations and building heights more reliably. Perera said the updated imagery is much more detailed: "the resolution of this imagery will be nine times greater than the imagery before," and staff noted the annualized contract cost of $50,400 (total $302,400 over six years) was budgeted in the TS contracted services account. The board adopted a resolution authorizing the county administrator to sign the agreement.
