Larry Scott and Chair Tony O'Meara presented the Two Rivers Ottauquechee Regional Commission report and noted funding and outreach opportunities tied to the Regional Plan. The minutes say block grant funding will be available for brownfields and that several commissioners are pushing back on proposed land-use changes in the plan.
"Block grant funding will be available for brown fields. Many of the Commissioners continue to push back on the Regional Plan's proposed changes to land use," the minutes record. Mr. O'Meara shared a schedule of public hearings and recommended the Planning Commission help publicize those hearings given heightened community interest.
Mr. O'Meara also projected that the legislature will repeal Tier 3, a legislative change he identified as likely to affect regional planning discussions. The minutes note there is still time to offer comments to the Regional Commission.
