The council reviewed competing quotes for a new pickup and the associated upfitting work (lights, siren, drawer systems and a topper). Although one vendor's base truck price was lower, John Jones offered an integrated upfitting package and a faster completion date; members cited convenience and single‑vendor warranty/service as reasons to accept the higher price.
One member noted the topper lead time could be eight weeks with some suppliers but John Jones quoted a shorter schedule such that the truck could be ready by early June. The motion to buy the truck through John Jones passed on a voice vote. Staff were directed to proceed with procurement and schedule outfitting.
