Council hears staff concern about apparent water-sales discrepancy
Summary
A council member pointed to a mismatch in the town's water figures — purchases of 79,000,000 vs. reported sales of 50,000,000 and an unexplained July adjustment — and members said they will investigate the report.

During the reports segment, a committee member raised questions about the town's water accounting, saying recent reports showed a large drop in water sales compared with prior purchases and that a July entry added roughly four million to the numbers. "We've gone got all the way down to selling 50,000,000, and apparently, we that's what it sells. And it's we bought 79,000,000 and only sold 50," the member said.
Members asked staff to check the figures and to follow up on whether the discrepancy stemmed from reporting, meter reads or posting errors. No formal audit or expenditure was authorized at the meeting; council members directed staff to return with clarification.
