Staff said the rezoning will allow the triangle to develop cohesively with the neighboring PD and ease coordination of future road expansions.
Staff and the plan commission recommended the change; 11 notification letters were sent and no responses were received from the notification area. Councilmember Thomas moved to approve the rezoning and Councilmember Luck seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The approval does not include a concept plan; any future development must meet Garland’s development code requirements and return to plan review as appropriate.
