The Garland City Council unanimously approved a city‑initiated rezoning at the small triangular parcel along Colford Road to bring it into consistency with adjacent Planned Development (PD‑8496). Staff said the rezoning will allow the triangle to develop cohesively with the neighboring PD and ease coordination of future road expansions.
Staff and the plan commission recommended the change; 11 notification letters were sent and no responses were received from the notification area. Councilmember Thomas moved to approve the rezoning and Councilmember Luck seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The approval does not include a concept plan; any future development must meet Garland’s development code requirements and return to plan review as appropriate.
