Committee removes library parking-lot replacement from CIP amid budget cuts

Facilities staff told the committee the lot is about 30 years old and receives heavy daily traffic, and that seal-and-fill approaches would be temporary because the underlying structure has deteriorated.
The motion to remove the parking lot project carried 4–1. Councilmembers said they remain open to revisiting the need if it becomes a public-safety concern, and requested staff provide age and condition documentation for the lot to the committee.
