Board approves updated bacteria policy, agent application and discusses lead testing in daycares

The Vernon County Board of Health reviewed and approved an updated Bacteria Policy and a revised Agent Application Form during the Sept. 17 meeting. The bacteria policy approval came by motion from Sherrie Seidel, seconded by Frank Easterday; the Agent Application revision was moved by Martha Olson and seconded by Sherrie Seidel. Both motions were recorded as passing with all ayes.
Health Officer Amy Kleiber reported the Agent program is working to bring licensed establishment payments up to date and confirmed the Agent contract year is 7/1/2025–6/30/2026. Kleiber also described work toward a potential Lead‑in‑Daycare contract modeled on a prior program — the proposed contract would extend lead testing and state remediation assistance to in‑home daycare facilities.
