Health department to revise hazard plans after state ends HERC regional contract; staff to pursue interactive data site

Health Officer Amy Kleiber told the board that the state's HERC regional contract was not renewed and that the department will revise its Hazard Vulnerability Assessment to reflect that change.
Kleiber said staff will continue planning for point-of-dispensing (POD) distribution under PHEP BP2 contracts and noted the department changed its volunteer vetting platform from WEAVR to Jurvare. Separately, Kleiber described a new iteration of the Compass Now project that would use artificial intelligence to compile data and create an interactive website or dashboard rather than a static PDF; she said possible regional PHIG funding may support the work.
Board members did not take any emergency action at the meeting but directed staff to proceed with preparedness updates and data-tool development as part of routine planning.
