Health Officer Amy Kleiber told the Vernon County Board of Health that September public-health expenditures totaled $26,112.57, leaving the department at approximately 62% of its annual budget.
Kleiber also relayed state guidance that a federal government shutdown would not affect currently approved health-department grants. She said the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) currently holds about a 30-day reserve for food packages and salaries if federal disbursements are delayed.
The board received vouchers and routine financial reports, including a May voucher for $7,754.00. No new budget cuts or reallocations were adopted at the meeting; staff noted they are preparing budget revisions for 2026.
