Carol DeBries, director of transportation and mobility, presented performance numbers for Grand Connection (FY26): total trips reported at about 74,004, total clients carried 28,018, passenger miles and 4,920 separate accounts. She explained the program serves people over 60 and those with qualifying disabilities and is provided free to eligible riders.
DeBries outlined the FY27 funding mix, including federal FTA 5307 capital, 5310 funds and transportation development credits, TxDOT contributions and a 20% city local match (city match cited at $265,500). Council members asked about vehicle fuel types and procurement; staff said the capital purchases follow federal procurement and infrastructure availability, and they will evaluate options for fleet upgrades where supported by funding.
