Grand Prairie economic development team honored with state awards

Tony Ramirez, the city’s economic development director, told the council that Grand Prairie participated in the Governor’s Cup awards and accepted the Texas Economic Development Council’s Economic Development Excellence Recognition. "For the first time ever, Grand Prairie has had the honor to participate in the Governor's Cup," Ramirez said, noting the city joined state leaders and industry executives at the Governor's Mansion earlier in the year.
Amy Mueller, the economic development manager, told the council TEDC criteria included continuing education for staff and implementation of organizational tools that improve project execution. Ramirez highlighted the city’s role in a recent Modine Manufacturing expansion from Wisconsin and thanked Mayor Pro Tem Curt Johnson for attending the ceremony in Austin.
