The Selectboard authorized the Board Chair to sign a contract with the Upper Valley Trails Alliance to build an all‑persons access trail at Tucker Mountain. The motion, made by Selectboard member Andrew Lee and seconded by Shauna Prime, gave the Chair authority to execute the agreement; work is expected to begin in April and conclude in November.
"The Board authorized the Board Chair to sign the contract with Upper Valley Trails Alliance. Work is expected to begin on the all-persons access trail in April and end in November," the minutes record. Tucker Mountain Town Forest Management Committee Chair Tom Kidder and the Board discussed revisions to the Tucker Mountain Town Forest Ordinance, particularly language concerning seasonal gates and their purpose; they also clarified State policy on locked gates. Mr. Kidder asked to make further revisions to the ordinance before it is finalized.
The action authorizes project implementation and directs the committee and town staff to coordinate on ordinance language and gate operations prior to trail construction.
