Council addresses property hearing scheduling, fines and possible receivership

Councilors discussed next steps if owners do not respond, including initiating receivership proceedings to appoint a receiver to make decisions about the property. S5 described receivership as an option to "have them appointed so as a receiver that would take, you know, make decisions regarding it properly" if other enforcement fails. The council also authorized follow-up enforcement and to move forward with towing of clearly identified junk vehicles that staff reported would likely be removed Friday or Saturday.
No final receivership action was taken at the meeting; staff were directed to continue sending notices and to proceed with on-the-ground enforcement where safe and appropriate.
