Ken Brummel, representing Sheffield EMS, told the board there is an ongoing push "to have 1 unified EMS service located at the 6/34 junction that would include 24/7 coverage with paramedic level of care for Sheffield, Buda, Wyanet, Mineral and Manlius," and noted similar efforts occurred "23 years ago, 12 years ago and 5 years ago." Brummel presented the request during the public comment period and asked the board to consider regional coordination of ambulance services.
Board members did not take formal action on the request at the meeting. The comment puts regional EMS coordination on the board's radar; trustees may consider follow-up or request staff research feasibility, funding, or intergovernmental agreements in subsequent meetings.
