"We have, 2 trees that are interfering with the utility lines," Galen said, describing damage to electric service and a recent roof replacement the prior owner needed after tree failures.
Board members reviewed the photographs and an arborist assessment from Terrapin Tree Care, which flagged a cedar growing flush to the foundation, a dying Colorado blue spruce and several dead Norway maples. Katie Alberti and other members urged removal of clearly hazardous or invasive specimens and recommended replacing removed trees with appropriate species. There was no formal vote recorded; staff noted the permit application remained on hold pending a building inspector’s review and utility shutdown. Staff said they would send a letter of support to the building department before the inspector’s visit.
