Windsor Locks to Pilot Voluntary Student-Centered Coaching Model in 2025-26

Executive Director Dr. Bissonnette outlined a newly developed Windsor Locks Student-Centered Coaching Model for the 2025-26 school year, describing implementation plans and the voluntary nature of year one.
"For the 25-26 school year it will be voluntary on the part of the coaches and those that will be coached," the minutes state. Principals provided names of participants who have been invited to training occurring on the district's Nov. 4 professional development day; Dr. Bissonnette said year two will be refined after feedback and will be coordinated with the district Professional Development and Evaluation Committee (PDEC).
District staff characterized the model as professional development intended to support teacher practice and student-centered instruction. Participation in year one is opt-in and training opportunities will be provided during the scheduled professional development day.
