Executive Director Dr. Bissonnette presented an overview of the types of benchmark assessments Windsor Locks administers and compared the district's beginning-of-year results to the previous year in math and reading.
"She further reviewed the beginning of the year scores compared to the previous year's beginning of the year's assessments, in the areas of math and reading," the minutes state. The board engaged leadership, including NSS Principal Giovanna Testani, with questions about student growth; board members expressed a need for scores to demonstrate growth over time because many grade-level results appeared relatively flat with some outliers.
Board members requested future reporting that better demonstrates longitudinal growth metrics so the district can track whether interventions or programs are producing measurable improvement.
