Richard Wood distributed a handout showing a currently available 20‑acre parcel and noted "20 acres is currently availabe, with another parcel south of that acreage for sale as well." Committee members discussed the need to plan for future growth: Al Sleeter recommended a minimum of 35 acres, and Bob Wolf emphasized allowing room for expansion for future departments.
Richard Heath cautioned that no construction costs or funding sources have been confirmed and recommended the group start with a base design focused on Highway Department needs. Berner said he will share information with Excel (a referenced partner) and continue analysis of privately owned land for safety, efficiency and acreage considerations before presenting options to the full county board.
