Quetico applicants’ zone-change and two conditional-use requests deferred pending town response

The Douglas County Planning & Zoning Committee on May 13 deferred action on a petition by Justin and Sarah Quetico to rezone a property from R-1 to R-2 to allow a hobby farm and a home business.
A resident, Danika McLaughlin, spoke during the public hearing, raising concerns about safety, increased traffic, and a shared driveway with the applicants. The committee recorded no correspondence from the Town of Amnicon. On a motion by Bill Fennessey, seconded by Howard Hendrickson, the committee voted to refer the zone-change petition to a future meeting pending a response from the town.
The committee also referred two conditional-use permit requests from the Queticos. One application described a hobby farm with "5 horses-donkeys; 10 chickens; 2 sheep; 2 goats." The second sought permission for a home occupation identified as "Equine Assisted Learning & Psychotherapy." With no town response recorded, motions to refer both items were approved (motions recorded by committee members Charles Glazman and Scott Luostari and by Hendrickson and Fennessey).
